ISSUE

Colon and rectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in Spain, a pressing healthcare challenge.

CHALLENGES

Boost participation in the colon and rectal cancer screening program, a goal we pursued through several strategic actions, including health analytics, healthcare operations management, and process improvement.

SOLUTION

A healthcare website was developed that became a knowledge center on disease prevention, offering testimonial videos, press releases, and a wide range of informational resources. In addition, these actions were complemented by various advertising campaigns on Meta (Facebook) and a dedicated WhatsApp broadcast channel, reaching tens of thousands of people and effectively raising awareness about the importance of early detection.

The website dedicated to the prevention campaign serves as the culmination point accessible to users who encounter campaign ads on social media platforms, specifically Facebook. It acts as a structured repository for all campaign-related posts, presented in a visually appealing and clear web format. In addition to its role as a content hub, the website also plays a crucial role in legitimizing the campaign. Its formal and institutional design adds credibility to the overall initiative, establishing a sense of authenticity.

Furthermore, the Facebook page has played a pivotal role as the primary promoter of the early detection campaign for colon and rectal cancer. It has facilitated various ad campaigns, ensuring maximum exposure to potential users for effective awareness. As mentioned earlier, the page serves as a bridge for those intrigued or with questions after viewing different posts, providing easy access to the web portal.

The WhatsApp broadcast channel was created to follow up with users to resolve any doubts they might have in order to increase and encourage participation in the program.

RESULTS

We successfully spurred participation in the colon and rectal cancer screening program. Our strategic actions reached a maximum number of individuals, bringing us a step closer to making prevention a reality in the Girona Health Region.
